Dog-eat-dog world

Reality check. The world is more cruel that it really seems. We do not live in a perfect world; nothing and no one is perfect. And because it is broken down, you can't just trust any Tom, Dick or Harry that comes into your life. The ugly sight of humanity sometimes really disgusts me. I know in this ruthless world, it's a dog-eat-dog world. But the question is, do we still have room for true friendship, camaraderie and love? Do we really have to give all that up in order to succeed in life? Have we really lost our moral compass? Do we drive all the way up to the top, even if it means knocking some poor souls down along the way? Is that the absolute formula to success?

"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" - Matthew 16:26

Some people in this world are extremely intelligent, or if not cunning. They smile at you, but it's only a facade. They're hiding a pistol right behind their backs.

Success may sometimes be only for a while. Everything is unpredictable - Economic crisis, natural disasters, terrorism, political unrest. In life there are so much more than just climbing up the career ladder, or earning your first million. Yes, those are important. But there are more important things in life. Life is so much more than that. Hold on to things that will last a lifetime instead of chasing down temporal stuff.

Careful there. To step on others to get to the top is the most despicable way to success. Because once you are up there, you will find that you are all alone. That is when you will realize that you've lost everything, right down to even your own soul. And when you fall so bad, no one will be there to pick you up.
